From the North (i.e., Huntsville, Decatur)
Take I-65 South.
Take the I-20 East/I-59 North exit towards Atlanta/Gadsden.
Take the Tallapoosa Street (AL-79) exit, exit #128.
Exit right and go 8.7 miles on US 79 to Carson Road traffic light
Turn right onto Carson Road
Go 0.4 miles up hill on Carson Road to traffic light.
Turn left at college entrance.
From the South (i.e., Montgomery, Mobile)
Take I-65 North.
Exit at I-459 and go 18 miles to I-59 South
Go 2.5 miles on I-59 South to Roebuck Plaza, exit 134
Go 2 miles on Parkway East to seventh light and turn left
Go 0.4 mile to traffic light at 13th Avenue NW and turn left
Go 3.2 miles on 13th Avenue NW/Carson Road and turn right onto college campus
From the West (i.e., Tuscaloosa)
Take the I-20 East/I-59 North towards Birmingham.
Take the Tallapoosa Street (AL-79) exit, exit #128.

Take I-20 W to Birmingham.
Take I-459 exit towards Gadsden/Montgomery/Tuscaloosa
Merge onto I-459 North
Take I-59 South exit towards Birmingham, Exit #33A
Take Roebuck Parkway/AL-75 exit, exit #134
Go 2 miles on Parkway East to seventh light and turn left
Go 0.4 mile to traffic light at 13th Avenue NW and turn left
Go 3.2 miles on 13th Avenue NW/Carson Road and turn right onto college |
Directions to Lawson State Community College
From the North (i.e, Huntsville, Decatur)
- Take I-65 South
- Take the I-459 South exit towards Tuscaloosa
Take the I-59 North exit towards Birmingham
- Take exit #108/US-11 North/AL-5 North onto Academy Drive
- Turn right from ramp and immediately get into far left lane
- Turn left at the first red light
- You will pass the Civic Center on your left
- Go approximately ¼ mile and turn left onto Lawson State Community College campus. It is directly across from the UAB Medical Center
- Go thru gate; veer right and go up the hill until get to stop sign
- Go straight thru stop sign and turn left at fork in the road
- Follow signs to Jess Lanier Bldg. It has a brown metal roof and is adjacent to the Ethel Hall Center.
From the South (i.e, Montgomery, Mobile)
- Take I-65 North
- Take the I-459 South exit towards Tuscaloosa
- Take the I-59 North exit towards Birmingham
